RE: [xmca] Obesity-Physical Education and Technology

HI Jim,
Sorry the 'utube' was my thesis work. I am referring below to a project
within schools in Botswana.
Kindest regards
Denise

Dear Denise,
thank you for your suggestion, I'm not familiar with Change Laboratory
but from a brief look, there may be tools there that might be helpful in
guiding the design of the new kinds of learning environments I'm interested
in creating. I Googled you and found a YouTube video of a presentation on
using this methodology in working with refugee mothers to help their
children with school work. I found the fact that facilitators in the
program wound up "doing the homework" very interesting, I've seen first hand
how teachers will sit back and let facilitators introducing new technology
"do all the work" and limit themselves to managing students. How to form new
working relationships in relation to schooling and the local culture seems
critical.

Dear Jim

We (Ritva Engestrom, Kai Hakkarainen, Jaakko Virkkunen, Paul Nleya and
others) worked on inserting ICT's into school education in Botswana through
the use of Change Laboratory methodology I don't know if this could be of
any help to you.

Hello to the list

I am in the early planning/feasibility study stage of developing an
intervention that integrates technology into the physical education
curriculum and integrates the data collected into math and science
curriculum. At this stage I am interested in connecting to anyone who is
currently working on integrating information technology into physical
education. Any suggestions, comments or questions would be welcomed.
