[xmca] subjective, objective, and reflective capacity

Robert Kegan has developed a neo-Piagetian theory called "constructive
developmental theory". I question the teleological direction of his "stage"
theory but one aspect of his theory I would like to reflect on.

He assumes that different "orders of development" have different structures
of what is experienced as "subjective" and what is experienced as
"objective". When something is experienced as subjective the person is
embedded in that structure and IS that structure. The person is unable to
de-center from that subjective structure and be able to reflect on the
structure. When the "order of development" is transformed, what was
previously experienced as "subjective" is now experienced as "objective". [I
wonder if the process can also be reversed but that is not Kegan's
perspective] What Kegan means by objective is that the person now has the
capacity to reflect on what was previously experienced as subjective and is
now differentiated from the subjective. [For example, in his model, at one
stage the person IS his/her subjective "perceptions" whereas when the person
can de-center from his/her perceptions the person is now able to reflect on
his/her perceptions so now the person HAS "objective" perceptions.[rather
than IS his/her subjective perceptions]

How does CHAT analyze this notion of the same phenomena as being experienced
as "subjective" or "objective" depending on the structure of development.
[If the structures are constituted by historicized sociocultural processes
and not teleological developmental "stages"]

Just wondering
