[xmca] Wikipedia article on LCHC

Several of us collaborated and created a Wikipedia article on LCHC, now available at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laboratory_of_Comparative_Human_Cognition_(LCHC)

Please look this over with a critical eye. This is just a core initial article to build upon. There are other Wikipedia articles related to CHAT that could be linked to, added to - and some new CHAT- related articles that could be created. One possibility would be to create articles about specific major CHAT-based writings.

After you've looked at this LCHC article, click on the "Discussion" tab at the top left. This will lead you to some tips on how to edit this article, or any Wikipedia article.

Feel free to make suggestions. For example, Martin suggests, quite rightly, that we could add to the Suggested Readings section Vygotsky's Collected Works, and other writings by Vygotsky. Such a list of suggested readings could eventually be divided into sub- sections, if it gets long enough. (Such an extended list could even become a separate article, perhaps - some kind of a bibliography of major and suggested CHAT writings - just tossing out an idea).

I think this LCHC article could use a "See Also" section, which lists Wikipedia links that are specifically relevant to CHAT.

For those that are not able or not comfortable with adding to or changing (editing) the LCHC article yourself, you can make suggestions on the Discussion page (also called by WP the Talk Page) under the section entitled "Suggestions." Or say something here on xmca. Or write me or someone offlist. Or just make the change yourself anyway!

I've learned a lot about Wikipedia helping create this article. Wikipedia is actually quite easy to edit, once one learns a few of the codes, and gets a little practice. It is an amazing tool - I use it frequently, sometimes just as a search device to find useful external links for a topic. This makes me think about how can we make this LCHC article, and other CHAT-related articles in WP, better tools ...

So what do people think?

- Steve
