RE: [xmca] Translation doubt

A forth language:

18. Инструментальный
метод изучает ребенка не только развивающегося, но и воспитуемого, видя в этом
существенное отличие истории человеческого детеныша. Воспитание же может быть
опредлено как искусственное развитие ребенка. Воспитание есть искусственное овладение естественными процессами развития. Воспитание не только влияет на те
или иные процессы развития, но перестраивает самым существенным образом все
функции поведения.

My personal impression I have send to you in Portuguese, Fernanda.

Best wishes.

> My research group in Brazil is writing a book on Vygotsky's most important concepts, from an Applied Linguistics perspective. In order to do so we have been reading his work and comparing different translations: The Brazilian versions, Obras Escogidas and The Collected Works. There was a passage in the text: The Instrumental Method in Psychology (1930), which has a different (almost contradictory translation) in the version in English in relation to the same passage in Portuguese and Spanish. Could any speaker of Russian please check that for us? The passage in the three languages is underlined below.

> 18. The instrumental method studies the child not only as a developing, but also as an educable being. lt sees in this the essential distinguishing feature of the history of the human young. Education may be defined as the artificial development of the child. Education is the artificial mastery of natural processes of development. Education not only influences certain processes of development, but structures all functions of behavior in a most essential manner.

La educación no puede ser calificada como el desarrollo artificial del niño. La educación es el dominio artificial de los procesos naturales de desarrollo. La educación no sólo influye en unos u otros procesos de desarrollo, sino que reestructura las funciones del comportamiento en toda su amplitud.
