Senior Scholar with Focus on Educational Equity
The School of Education invites applications or nominations for a senior
faculty position at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Candidates
should have an earned doctorate with an outstanding record of research
related to improving educational outcomes for students living in poverty
and/or from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Preference
will be given to candidates who can fulfill programmatic needs in one of
the following areas: social studies education, mathematics education,
educational technology, English language learners, the learning sciences,
or advanced research methodologies. The ideal candidate will have an
established research program and a commitment to educational practice or
policy. A record of external funding is desirable.
The School of Education has a dynamic faculty with numerous recipients of
fellowships and awards from agencies such as the National Science
Foundation, the Spencer Foundation, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the
National Institutes of Health. Many of our faculty serve or have served as
editors of top journals. The School is committed to collaborative
partnerships with local public schools, after-school programs, and
community centers. Recently, the School has initiated an Urban Education
Task Force that focuses on students from low-income families. For more
