Development

Hello Amanda,

Would it possible to post the following position announcement on the CDS
listserve?

Hope all is well.

Best,

Marianella

Dear Colleagues,

I wanted to pass along the following posting for two positions in our
department. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions at
mc272@cornell.edu.

The Department of Human Development (http://www.human.cornell.edu/hd/)
seeks applicants for two tenure-track assistant professor positions in
any area to begin July 2008. These positions extend a major building
program in the Department that has resulted in eight significant hires
in recent years. The Department has a broad base in normative
developmental psychology and sociology that includes social,
personality, cognitive, emotional, and biological domains. In addition,
the Department has four particularly strong emphases that cut across the
five content domains: (1) Aging & Health, with foci on both normal,
positive aging as well as age-related socioemotional and health
problems; (2) Culture & Diversity, which examines the influence of
cultural factors on basic developmental processes; (3) Developmental
Behavioral Neuroscience, which includes both normative and disordered
cognitive, affective, and social domains; and (4) Law, Psychology, &
Development, with special interests in cognition and memory. Individuals
who integrate several basic areas are of particular interest. The
department also maintains significant research bridges with the Medical
campus in New York City.

Responsibilities include teaching three courses per year (typically two
undergraduate and one graduate), supervising student research, and
maintaining a rigorous, highly productive and externally-funded program
of empirical research that maintains and builds the department's
international reputation. Send vita, statement of research and teaching
interests, three representative publications, and three letters of
reference to Office of the Chair, Department of Human Development,
Martha Van Rensselaer Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853.
Cornell University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
Review of applications will begin November 15; applications are welcomed
until the position is filled.
