Wellll David. . .
. . . it is a bit of both. For a long time the nasty little secret in
public education is not everyone belongs in college accelerated curriculum,
yet the push for high stakes testing has removed nearly all vocational and
classic 'hands-on' curriculum. Personally I think there is a place for IQ
testing but as with lie-detector tests they have been misused and labeled
'evil'.
Now if we were to revisit Vygotsky's assessment technique (aka the zone of
proximal development) and pair it with IQ scores such as the Lidz devised
Dynamic assessment we might have something that could really assist
education in helping students reach their potential.
maybe
and peace be with you,
eric

Dear Eric,
Is this an irony or a misunderstanding?
Peace,
David
