Dear Colleagues-- Owing to a numer of factors including Yrjo Engestrom's
decision to give up his position at UCSD and that several of our faculty
will
be on sabbatical for part of the year, we have a position starting in the
fall
for someone who can teach courses in our Communication Department.
The exact courses to be taught is a little bit flexible, but they include
courses such as
Literacy in the individual and society
Practicum in Child Development
Biography and narrative analysis
Cross-cultural communication
Communication and national development
Civic participation
The exact timing of courses is partially negotiable as is the exact menu
of courses being taught. Some shuffling can be done. But it needs to be
done soon.
The person filling this position should have a ph.d in social sciences or
humanities
and should have some demonstrated familiarity with communicational
approaches
to human thought and action.
The webpage at communication.ucsd.edu <http://communication.ucsd.edu> will
tell you more about the department and
the kinds of ideas it is focused on.
