The Russian State University for the Humanities, the L. S. Vygotsky
Psychology Institute, the L. S. Vygotsky International Society, the L. S.
Vygotsky Foundation spends at 15-17th of November 2005 the VI International
Readings in memory of L. S. Vygotsky: Cultural-Historical Psychology on a
joint of two centuries. Results and perspectives (tribute to 10th
anniversary of the L. S. Vygotsky Psychology Institute)

One of the central problems of the Readings is demonstration of the
succession and progressive dialectics in the development of cultural-
historical theory of L. S. Vygotsky, her experimental and practical
application on a joint of two centuries. At the same time the special
attention is planed to be given for showing the opportunities of the
dialogue between cultural-historical theory and other scientific concepts –
both within the contexts of psychology, and behind its contexts.

The main directions of work of the conference will cover following subjects:

        Philosophical, psychology-theoretical and common cultural sources of
creativity of L.S.Vygotsky. «Vygotsky» picture of the mental world of the
person – a phenomenon of XX century: passing and not passing. Possible
epicenters of development of cultural-historical psychology in the beginning
of new century.
· L.S.Vygotsky: psychology of development as the general psychology.
Ideal and real forms of development in modern culture. A zone of the nearest
development and prospect of personal growth.
· Design method of construction of the psychological theory,
experiment and practice. The cultural-historical theory as a basis of
developing social practices.
· Psychology of art – a key to psychology of the person?
· Creative psychology: unity of affect and intelligence. Culture and
sense-creative activity of mind.
· Instruments, signs and the communications in culture of XXI
century: a social situation of development of the modern person. Direct and
indirect in human mentality.
· L.S.Vygotskogy's school: « unity in variety »?
· Development of the cultural-historical theory within the limits of
concrete areas of psychological knowledge.
· Problems of the cultural-historical theory behind its limits.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The program committee invites researchers to send proposals that correspond
to one of the above-listed themes. A proposal can be submitted for:

     a paper that corresponds to one of the conference themes.

     a poster that corresponds to one of the (sub) themes of the conference.

     a symposium that corresponds to one of the (sub) themes of the
conference.

Working languages are Russian and English.

All papers will be organised in symposium sessions.

Submission Guidelines

All paper proposals must include: 1) title of paper, 2) author´s name, 3)
institutional affiliation, 4) degrees 5) mailing address, 6) e-mail
address, 7) a 1000-1200 word summary (max), 8) a reference to one of the
congress themes.
Please let us know whether instead of, or in addition to presenting, you
might be interested in being a discussant or participating in the program in
some other way.
Paper sessions will be scheduled into 15 minutes time slots in plenary
session and 10 minutes in symposiums. Please indicate your audio-visual
requirements (if you need any).
Important Dates

     Deadline for the submission of proposals: July 1, 2005
     Notification of proposal acceptance: On or before August 1, 2005
