Bill, what a great post, tying together so many important themes. I like
the way you take up some of Jay's and Kris's insights (for example,
"dominant script") to take a critical look at the Gredler-Shields review -
very effective, although for my part I might try to argue that it is
Glassman, and not G&S, that is occupying the "dominant script"
position. I've now read the Glassman article and may have a slightly
different take on it and how to understand the "dialectic" of this
discussion over Dewey and Vygotsky that he initiates - and how Gredler and
Shields try to fit into this discussion. I'll be posting something ...
