Jay's posting is to be taken as an amendment to the original motion, then it
seems the question should be restated as:
Should Dorothy Holland to be invited to speak at the CHSIG _business_meeting_
at AERA Chicago?
So perhaps we're being a little rough with Robert's rules, however, as Jay
points out, such an amended motion poses no competition for the slots
available to SIG members, and all comments directed towards DH have been
positive so far. This is not to silence any contrary opinions -- please
post yours! (Formally, this business meeting amendment should be seconded.)
As Judy points out, the invitation of a speaker to the business meeting
should be brought into the greater consideration of what else should happen
then and there. Without getting any more formal, it would seem appropriate
also to discuss the business meeting so that the vote on Dorothy's invitation
can be put in context.
Any other agenda items?
