Well,
I think Vygotsky himself can be an example of a researcher that uses a multireferencial approach without the risk of beeing ecletic.He makes use of contributions of many disparate approaches to psychicism but do not lose any coherence. He remains well set in the soil of historical materialism.

But, it depends on what someone "understand" for ecleticism. Or the use one does of this word. The sense of a word can be illimited - opposing its meaning. It is important to know one's MOTIVES, OBJECTIVES of its use.
