I appreciate everyone's response to my posting. It certainly improves my
comfort level. Both Bill and Eva asked for a paper and needless to say
this made my stomach flutter once again. Since I'm not sure what it means
to post a paper or whether the one I have in mind is appropriate, I decided
to offer a reference.

Larson, J. (1999). Analyzing participation frameworks in kindergarten
writing activity: The role of overhearer in learning to write. Written
Communication, 16(2), 225-257.

In spite of my nervousness about opening up this piece to the list, I
always appreciate meaningful discussion of my work. The article presents
discourse analysis of videotaped interaction in an ethnographic study of
writing activity in kindergarten and is grounded in sociocultural theory
and linguistic anthropology. I hope it promotes some good discussion.
