I think that it is important to have in mind that this method rises over
the principle of the use of two kinds of stimulus by the experimenters.
Like the collored cards to help on memorizing forbidden collors,
verbally pronouced and said by the experimenter to the subject - in that
experimental "game of collors" conduced by A. N. Leontiev.
That it was/is usefull to demonstrate how people can use signs (second
stimulus) to enlarge his capacity of solving some task (primary one).
