On the other hand, it doesn't take naivete to radically break from
traditional theoretical orientations. Lynn Margolis takes a step toward
life even simpler than tadpoles on the scale of complexity:

life. Pound for pound, single celled life is the dominant life on this
planet, and it is mostly in
the sea. Dr. Margulis has often opposed biology's traditional focus on big
land animals."
