New Position: Associate Professor in School Psychology
Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education
The College of Education at Michigan State University announces a tenure
stream, academic year, position for a candidate of exceptional promise in
our APA-accredited School Psychology program. We are seeking someone who
is committed to both research and practice in supporting the learning and
development of children, youth, and families, particularly in schools. In
addition to an active program of research applicant should have prior
administrative experience. Expertise in school-based interventions,
personality assessment, behavior disorders, and/or consultation, is highly
desirable.
The position in School Psychology will be in the Department of Counseling,
Educational Psychology and Special Education. Individuals with interests
in related areas such as alternative assessment, human development, or
counseling are especially encouraged to apply. Affiliations with research
centers in the college are also possible. The appointment will begin
winter or fall, 1999. Salary will depend upon the applicant's experience
and qualifications.
Responsibilities will include: (1) serving as Director of the School
Psychology program; (2) graduate teaching; (3) engagement in an active
research program; (4) assumption of a leadership role in the program; (5)
supervision of doctoral dissertations, and (6) clinical supervision.
Qualifications: (1) earned doctorate in school psychology from an
APA-accredited program; (2) eligibility for certification as a school
psychologist and licensure as a psychologist in the State of Michigan; (3)
evidence of scholarly productivity; (4) prior experience as a school
psychologist; (5) experience in securing external funding.
