'cause you're scared to pitch to the batter...
anyhow. another great book (I *can't* help it) is
"Bold In Her Breeches" which is a cultural/historical/feminist
analysis of women pirates/cross-dressing women who sailed
& or captained "pirate" ships from the 11th century or so, to present day.
As an example of what kinds of work are produced within
cultural/historical/feminist research, it is a very very smart book.
I'll post the author & reference soon. For now, I have
a situation to deal with. :-)
