Yes, I wondered about Jay's discussion of the oppositional habitus,
his skepticism about assigning the tacit critique to the actor.
First, it seems obvious to me that the resistance would be
known by the actor as such - as against the flow, and therefore
at least "tacitly critical." But moreover, it seems unlikely that
an oppositional stance would be possible without a history/ a
tradition that articulated the terms for opposition.

Otherwise, it's madness.
