What is being proposed is already a reality in many states. It is called
School to Work or STW for short. It is very scary concept. What is being
advocated is that the sole purpose of schools becoming the fulfillment of
the needs of employers. STW, which is supported by federal school to work
legislation will require all students to obtain a Certificate of Initial
Mastery by their sophmore year in high school. This is to be obtained by
passing tests being developed by the New Standards Project. Without a CIM
a student's job prospects will be zero. Students are to be committed to an
occupation by seventh grade.

If you would like a centrally controlled economy and schools owned and
operated for the benefit of business then STW is for you.
