I have read some of Carol Gilligan's work and I am puzzled about your
notion of high caste males,
atypically, voluntarily yielding power and privilege to help out
females (or the oppressed generally).
Gilligan's book, _In a Different Voice_, mentions some atypical
responses from both females and males; not everyone conforms
to/expresses the roles that their culture expects. Can you describe the
males that you are asking about? Perhaps the behavior that you are
describing has more to do with their wealth and social status than
gender.
