Linda Flower's work has been reported I think in the form of
Occasional Papers or maybe it was an "interim report" that I
saw (sorry I don't have the specific cite) available from
_National Center for the Study of Writing_ which is housed
at (UC Berkeley and) Carnegie Mellon University (412) 268-6444.

For an immediately accessible introduction to the work, see
"Negotiating the Meaning of Difference" by Flower in
_Written Communication, V 13_ (1) pp 44-92. (Jan. 1996)
