Angel, sorry! SFL = systemic functional linguistics, the
branch of linguistics developed by Halliday. Gordon wrote an
article interconnecting SFL with activity theory - Vygotsky &
Halliday - in MCA (the journal) I'm not sure when. You probably
are familiar with the article anyway. It's a horribly technical
language for talking about language, but maybe that's part of
its value as a tool for intervention in the ways we ordinarily
use language!
