I'm wondering about the phrase "strict Piagetian interpretation." I
suspect that this should more accurately read 'strict
popularizers-of-Piaget interpretation.' I doubt that such an
interpretation as is implied in the quotation here would be something that
Piaget, himself, would have agreed with at least in the last 10 to 20 years
of his career.
