In our work on the creation and sustaining of new kinds of educational
activity in community settings, our observers actually constitute the
activity they observe. Without their participation there would be
no activity. We are currently pursuing a comparison of this and other
forms of participant observations as a way of getting multi-perspectival
descriptions of one and the same activity.
