I teach at the University of South Carolina-Aiken in the
School of Education. My research interest is in publishing
conclusions from my dissertation on students' thoughts and
dispositions in mathematics as found in their journal entries.
My interest in writing, thinking, and mathematics stem from my
background and degrees in business, journalism, then
education. I am currently teaching preservice teachers (early
childhood and elementary) and inservice teachers (elementary
and middle) in mathematics methods. I am interested in
discussions and a deeper understanding of Vygotsky, Bruner,
Piaget, and Dewey and their differences/likenesses in the
teaching and learning of mathematics for ages 3 to 14.
