Greetings to every one, I am a Ph.D. student with the Ontario Institute for
Studies in Education at the University Of Toronto. My 'area' of interest
can be described as being the 'intersection' of the areas of cognition,
broadly viewed, and communication, broadly viewed. That makes one's interest
to be mainly of an interdisciplinary nature. I take the sociocultural
tradition to be an important contributor to this interdisciplinary
'space'.This interdisciplinary interest, among and after other things,
developed from a basic desire to have an "organic" understanding of
technology from a 'cognitive' point of view. The fact that Computer
Applications and Instructional Technology are my initial
specializations at the Institute may explain my initial concern with
understanding technology. On this occasion of rejoining the list I should
not forget to thank Professor Gordon Wells who contributed to both: my
awareness of the sociocultural tradition at large and this forum.
