Here's another attempt to provide fuller information. I am an Associate
Professor in the department of Educational Psychology at the University of
Illinois at Chicago, and I direct the Master's program in early childhood
education. My work focuses on the development of intersubjectivity in
adult-child interaction and peer interaction of preschool children in the
activities of play and problem solving. Presently, I am doing a cross-cultural
study of play with children from the U.S and Turkey. Also, in a
couple of other studies, we have been examining the nature of preschoolers'
classroom collaborations with their peers and teachers in different activities.
My published work in the area of early education focused on the educational
implications of Piaget's and Vygotsky's theories.
