For the last 20 years or so I have been mostly involved in finding out
about and writing about the roots of Russian social psychology. This was
started in the mid-70's with my encountering a variety of "Soviet
experimental social psychology", conducted mostly at the Academy of
Sciences in Moscow, a variety which seemed to offer so much promise for
the future of social psychology. It focussed on phenomena like joint
perception, collective (joint) remembering, collective (joint) creativity,
etc. My search has led me now to the works of V.M. Bekhterev. Working
with different translators, I have published an edited translation of
"Collective Reflexology", and an earlier book, "Suggestion and its Role
in Social Life" is at a publisher's now. University finances willing,
there's more to come.
