My name is Rebeca Mejia Arauz. I work at ITESO, which is a private
university in Guadalajara, Mexico, in the Departments of Psychology
and Communication. I am in charge of a research program in
sociocultural and cognitive development, I also teach in a graduate
program in cognitive education. Vygotskian theory is of course
central in our work. We follow the work of J. Wertsch, B. Rogoff, R.
Gallimore and R. Tharp.
My personal interest is in studying how social interaction can
help in the development of thinking habilities and processes. I have
done research with teachers who want to change their interactive style
with their groups of university students.
