Hello. My name is Hiroaki Ishiguro.
I belong to Miyagi University of Education as an educational psychologist.
My research focuses on interaction, cognition and culture in an
institutionalized setting such as a school. Now I am interested in the
difference between a school activity and an preschool one. The difference
can tell the information about institution-mediated mind.
I am also interested in collaborative work settings. A Scientific museum
and a team teaching work are good research fields for our group.
Theoretically I adopt sociohistorical approach proposed by L. S. Vygotsky
and try to extend the activity theory, especially a social institution
mediated activity theory. Recently I conducted workshops about an
anti-individualism in psychology and a methodology with video analysis on
practice in annual meetings of Japanese psychological societies.
I hope xmca participants will discuss these topics. Thank you.
