My background is in Computer Science, where I have 14 years of
experience in a variety of roles - from programmer to software
engineer - and I've published on these topics in a variety of mediums
- including technical journals and two books.
As a recent student of educational psychology, I am studying cultural
historical theories of development and learning. I am also
undertaking a research practicum looking at how discourse is similar
and different in duel mediums: face-to-face interaction in meetings
and electronic over e-mail. I'm especially interested in how the
discourse might change as a result of the medium(s).
A specific topic I'm working on as part of my coursework is how
technology can facilitate intersubjectivity and whether discourse
analysis methods are appropriate for analyzing electronic discourse.
