My name is Judith Davidson Wasser. I am a Senior Research Associate at TERC
in Cambridge, MA, an educational research firm focusing on issues related to
technology and learning. My current work is with an NSF funded project
examining the ways that technology can enrich curriculum and restructure
schools within the DoDEA system (Schools for American military dependents
abroad). My roots, however, are in the world of English/language
arts/reading education. I recently completed my Ph.D. at the University of
Illinois. My dissertation examined the world of reading professionals
outside of schools, that is, in their professional organizations. My
interests have been in belief systems within educational organizations and
theories that would help me to understand those beliefs, the ways they shape
the construction of knowledge, and how they shape organizational structure
and policy.
