I am a faculty member at the University of Colorado at Denver in the
Master of Social Science Program. I developed and currently teach 2 of the
core seminars in the program: Philosophical Problems in the Social Sciences and
Gender as Culture, and will be offering an elective in the spring called
Postmodernism and the Social Sciences. My work focuses on
cross-disciplinary approaches to the study of human lives--particularly
the cultural-historical underpinnings of gendered concsiousness. Coming
from a developmental psychology perspective, I am very interested in how
Vygotskian-inspired theory illuminates current discussions of girls' and
women's development as well as how it helps to inject a
psychological perspective into more broadly based feminist conversations in
philosophy, literature and politics concerned with culture, history and
the mind.
