Nikolai
Veresov continues his series of lectures on cultural-historical theory and the
genetic research methodology.
This lecture
is devoted to the history of Vygotsky’s cultural-historical psychological
theory and its contemporary applications. The main emphasis will be given to
the stages of development of Vygotsky’s thinking from 1917 to 1934 and to the
history of the reception of cultural-historical theory in the Western academic
community. The undiscovered potential of cultural historical theory and
possible ways of its exploring will be discussed during the lecture.
This
seminar is hosted by the Child & Community Development Faculty Research
Group and the Dialectical Logic Reading Group, Faculty of Education, Monash
University, Peninsula campus.
