The CYFO coordinates APA's public interest, health, human welfare, and social responsibility activities in the areas of children, youth, and families. The office supports the work of the APA Committee on Children, Youth, and Families and related task forces, and liaisons with interested divisions, state associations, other organizations and federal agencies. CYFO programs work to ensure that children, youth, and families receive the full attention of the Association; promote knowledge development and dissemination; engage in policy analysis and advocacy; and provide information and referral and consultation to members and the public. Required Qualifications: · Master’s degree in psychology or other social science discipline required; doctorate preferred · 5 or more years of increasingly responsible program development and project management experience required, including work experience with a membership, policy, research, or academic institution · Working understanding of psychology and its applications; knowledge of issues relating to children, youth, and families; exemplary communication and negotiation skills Description: The Director conceptualizes, plans, directs, and manages the programs and administrative operations of the Children, Youth, and Families Office (CYFO) and develops and implements projects initiated by the Committee on Children, Youth, and Families and other related groups.
