Re: [xmca] Zhozephina Shif – something in English?
Sure. This is --
Shif, Z. I. Development of children in schools for mentally retarded.
In M. Cole & I. Maltzman (Eds.), A handbook of contemporary
Soviet psychology. New York: Basic Books, 1969
A caveat though. I would not be that sure that this work unconditionally qualifies as an example of "Vygotskian defectology", and the connection between this stuff and Vygotsky's work needs to be thoroughly explored.
Then, another caveat. There are quite a few works written and published by Vygotsky's former students and/or collaborators, so, as you certainly know, this chapter by Shif is by no means exceptional and is only a a few pages piece out of several hundred (if not thousand!) pages corpus of literature on the subject and a minor episode of a very long story.
In turn, may I ask you what exactly you mean by "Vygotsky's CW": publisher, language, the composition of the volume, etc?

Hi Anton,
Can you please cite the name of this work in English please, nowadays I
work on a simple introductory article on volume two on defectology of
Vygotsky's CW , which I hope to share with xmca soon.
