Peter--- Try Mead's concept of meaning and see where that leads us.
I am puzzling over that now.
I always have thought that the idea that "the thought is completed in the
word" was incomplete and needed its sequalia to "flesh" it out. As I read
him, Mead is working on exactly that problem.
To make matters really complicated, Mead got his phd from Dilthey, who is
Vygotsky's "other" in arguing for an explanatory psychology, but more
complicatedly related to Luria for whom "realpsycholie" held such
fascination. May I live long enough to untangle at least three of the three
*******N threads tangled up here!!
