Just a few Marxism & Psychology Research Group (MPRG)
updates
-Marxism and Psychology Conference 2010-
There have been a number of inquiries regarding the 2010
conference so I would just like to notify everyone on the
list that we are moving ahead with the Marxism and
Psychology Conference to be held on August 5-7, 2010 at
the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI). We are
still in the planning stages but I have gone ahead and
added a timeline to the MPRG site
(http://vre.upei.ca/mprg/ - see the Main Menu
under ?Conference 2010?). There has been considerable
interest in this conference from scholars, students, and
activists from across the globe. I will be sure to provide
more updates though this list as they become available.
-Registered MPRG Users-
I only recently discovered that individuals who applied
for a username/password at MPRG have not been able to
access the member list or post on the forums. I have made
the necessary changes so all registered members should now
have these privileges. If you are interested in
registering for a username, here is the link:

-Reading Group-
This summer reading group for Marx?s Capital went
extremely well. I highly recommend Dr. David Harvey?s
online lectures for a close reading of the text. Here is

For the fall reading group, we will be delving into a
number of texts within the tradition of Western Marxism.

This fall we will be reading Lukacs, Gramsci, Horkheimer,
Adorno, Marcuse, Laclau, and Mouffee.
