RE: [ch-sig] FW: CH-SIG voting booth CLARIFICATION

There seems to be some confusion about what we are voting on for the
business meeting.

In follow-up email after AERA last year, I explained that the business
meeting can no longer be used as a session slot. The policy of AERA is to
provide every SIG an evening slot to conduct business. SIGs are welcome to
invite a speaker at SIG expense, but not to present what would otherwise
count against our session allotment in the regular program.

The current SIG officers also decided last year to continue what had been
started by our predecessors, voting on a theme for the AERA, but instead of
apply the theme to the conference as a whole, we are using it to determine
the topic of a talk for the business meeting only.

When you vote, you are voting on a topic for the business meeting.

It would be very helpful if, when you vote (or when you check the results of
voting), you would fill out the comment slot with a candidate for speaker on
the topic you voted for.

Here, again, are the instructions for voting:
http://activitytheory.home.comcast.net/polls/

Be sure to check the pull down list to view all three choices for a theme
(i.e., topic). Highlight your choice, then click "submit."

BE PATIENT. It may take a few minutes to load.

After you have voted (& wait! for your vote to be recorded), you will have
the option to enter comments. Please
NOMINATE A SPEAKER(s) in the COMMENT form
and if you wish, say why you made the choice you did.
