I'd also recommend Leo Rosten's 'The JOYs of Yiddish' where the meaning of
terms in what he calls 'Yinglish' is illustrated by the use of Jewish
humour.

One of my favourites there is where he demonstrates that the sentence 'I
should buy a ticket for her party' can have six different meanings according
to which word is stressed. All of which imply precisely the opposite of what
the sentence appears to mean. Think about it...
