However, I think we need to take great care when crossing boundaries
(a) not to take the meaning of words in one domain to be the same as
those in another, (b) not to take too many (or perhaps too easily)
assumptions from one's own field to apply them to another, and (c)
always to be aware that all fields, I guess, are subject to debate and
have differing points of view within them. I'm sure Shlain has some
interesting things to say and some time I will probably get round to
buying the book if not reading it since you have drawn our attention to
it.
