As open source software, linux can also be had with (1) little and (2) no
charge to replace the windows operating system. If one is familiar with unix,
there is added advantage, although the superior GUI interface(s) makes
knowledge of unix unnecessary.

Similarly for open office to replace microsoft office.

Discussion of further details should go backstage or on separate mailing list.
