Pedro, yes -- we should definitely run these posts through xmca & the SIG
list.
I hope you'll go ahead and organize a symposium....
I'm not sure what you're proposing re: other SIGS. I set up a joint
arrangement with the LSP SIG years ago but that was before AERA took over
the administration -- I think it would be great to set up joint memberships
to build up SIG presence in general at AERA.

Hi Judy,,, we could call the session something like Examining Chat
Directions Across Research Communities: How does Context Relate to Motives
and Inquiry
In effect, just wondering how/why is it that som researchers use CHAT to the
next level in say,
the russians and theoretical pursuits,
USA 5th dim cole etal
Some Latins/usa re. the ach gap, schooling
Jim/s sociocultural, language, voices
Identities
Marxists etc..
I was thinking more of an idea for a session, for , us to self examine
rather than a theme per se....
and wanted to help get the participation going too.
I support whatever you decide one concern is that we stick to our identity
and be careful not to mesh too much with other SIG's agendas (lest
theyagree to join us of course or we agree to double up.
Suggestion, if we were to kick in an extra 5 or 10 per year to exhange and
join other sigs when they join ours....would that be helpful to do en masse?
not sure how many mwmbers we have or need for that next slot.
also, should we not run all of our posts thru xmca/ or at least copy the
list serve?
thanks for all u r doing..prp
