Dear members and supporters of the Cultural-Historical SIG,

Anticipating ISCRAT-> return from ISCRAT-> Fall 2002, & echoing Bill, the
SIG has a terrific foundation and virtual home thanks to King and Eugene,
and it has apparently much expanded its membership, thanks to Jennifer. I
just want to remind everyone, after my (ahem) 'election' to this office,
that the officers depend on all of you (I've certainly got the lingo
down!) - yes, we need YOU. I will be marshalling my jiminy cricket spirit
into SIG service here, to encourage response to such questions, as:

(bill:)
Anyway, aera allows us to create a CHSIG award, as King pointed out. This
is something we (CHSIG) could use to advantage. Any ideas?

The SIG award, I think, needs a theme? a purpose?

in addition, the SIG sponsorship of papers and panels for next year needs a
theme/ purpose.

Eugene, thankfully, is always already "there" w/ voting mechanisms galore in
place on the SIG website

I assume they will need to be updated. Late summer seems about right, eh,
Eugene? And then we hope that we will hear from [fat finger pointing out)
YOU.

Judy
