Bill B's suggestion sounds like a useful practice, a sort of modification/
more specific vesion of Eugene's "what do you think?"
Which reminds me. Bruce Jones indicates that with the new UCSD Communicataion
Dept. server now up and running, he is in a position to help with modification
of xmca joining and quiting procedures, as well as automatic collection
of self descriptions to which, I hope, pictures of one's self, one's sig
nificant others, and whatever vistual self reps one wants to place their
(there) can find a home.
As part of that process, Bruce has asked what might the be minimal
self descriptive info we would want to have there. Here is my initial
stab at a minimal set. Others please add/subtract/comment.
name
institutional affiliation
disciplinary affiliation(s) (say, uo to three)
core areas of academic interest
practical domain(s) of life to which you try to apply academic knowledge
inspirational scholars of the past you draw upon
(optional) Brief description of current project
email contact
Is that enough.too much? too someting else?
