Right Esteban-- Qualified pool is very relevant. As oyu know personalyly,
having been a long time de soto advocate, what acutally happens is that
in "the pool" are some people "of color" ( being pink myself, of course,
my masculinity as well as ethnicity are at risk) ... except for the cancer
excisions which any polite person should overlook... but thier academio
credentials, assumijng a level playing field, (level? who is playing?(--
perhaps keith or ricardo could explicate "level playing field
" do not match those of vafious others who are not primiary experiences
of the california cultures in question.

There are so many ways to loose one cannot count them. Whe with deliberate
care and forethgouth I included local black and brown people in LCHC'
s trainging problem a prominent AFRICAN AMERICAN evaluator of 0ur
postdoctoral training proram ( a full prof in the meidwest last hear
d from) complained that we were including second class academics in our
training program. so he could join Jensen et al in denying us a continued
role in trainging.

a few months later, we shifted focus to the evil empire (aka ussr) and the
montey flowed again.

for thos with any interest in these arcane misahthopies, the relevant
document are at lchc,ucsd.edu. Check out history and archives.

There you will find that one E. Diaz, among other brave souls, conducted
great research which the level playing field advocatess of neo0liberalism
do not have the guts to take on person to person.
