Life has been so topsy turvey here that it is difficult to remember what
day it is/was. So it was that I read Thursday's LA Times today. I came
across a front page story that I recommend, not only to XMCA readers,
but to Mr. Bush and Mr. Powell. It is about the memories of Soviet
soldiers who tried to win a war in Afghanastan. It can be found at
