i can't recall if it was here that the absence of emotions in CHAT was
raised -
or elsewhere?

but i'd offer this book as a response:

_Biocultural approaches to the Emotions_, 1999, Alexander Laban Hinton
(Ed.,) NY, Cambridge UK: Cambridge University Press.

it's _really_ interdisciplinary, as opposed to those
faux-interdisciplinary "approaches" and all - an invaluable resource for
responsible CHAT analysis, i'd say.
