June Conference in Cuba Call for Papers

The Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) is sponsoring a
symposium at the University of Habana in June 6-8, 2001 on
"The Actual State of Social and Economic Thought: Marxist, 3rd world,
Feminist, Ecological & Religious.

Deadline is May 25 for proposals.

It will promote interaction and reflection samong social scientists and
economists from various nations on themes related to current global
conditions and tendencies in the politics and economic policies worldwide.
The organizers invite proposals from sociologists, economists, political
scientists, historians and other social scientists from their respective
contexts on the following themes;
Alternative to neoliberalism (from a South/other perspectives), social
movements, ecological concerns, political economies, rural development...etc

It will be bilingual and papers can be presented in English or Spanish.
Travel options are available before and after the symposium.
Registration $60.00
University of Habana will host.
