Subject: a wee bit o' newz
just for youze folks who know me, and of course FYI to anyone else,
the end is near.
next wednesday, at 1:00 pm i will be defending my dissertation,
"the falling scholar: essays in the outside"
and while i am sick with nerves about the whole thing,
i am mostly glad to be doing it...finally.
my parents have coerced me into attending the november graduation, (should
i actually pass the defense) which means i have to cap'n'gown it all the
way through, but i suppose it's better than being drawn and quartered, eh?
(i'd rather be painted and halved!)
so, as a graduate student member of this list for all these years, i must
say this marks a rather large shift in my world. i might turn out to be
one of those philosopher grounds-keepers,
or philosopher-dog-walker, but what the heck. I'll be Dr. Weed-Trimmer.
Dr. Dog-Walker.
Dr. Seven-Eleven Cashier!!
ha ha.
sweet eh?
so if you like, on sept. 20, have a toast to the goddesses of completion
because i am
rather hoping to finish what i began.
cheers my dears,
diane
